Chevrolet did just that with its 2015 Chevrolet Colorado WT 2.5. Have you ever sat and looked at all the bells and whistles on the new trucks today and said to yourself, what happened to a simple all around work truck. Well here is your answer. When most car companies stripped their trucks down to bare bones, the product just was not very good. You either had to go all the way with the fancy schmancy trucks that don’t even resemble trucks any more or get a motorized wheelbarrow. That is until now. It has a 2.5 liter I-4 making 200 horsepower and 191 lb-ft of torque mated to an optional six speed automatic. The hp are routed directly out to the rear wheels. It can tow up to 3500 pounds.
It is quick out of the gate and has a much more comfortable ride than you would expect from a base model truck. It handles exceptionally well with car like reflexes. It has more than adequate towing and hauling capabilities and even towing a load had a good starting pace and acceleration. Of course there are a few options and add-ons if you need a little upgrade but this is one of the best work trucks that have come out in years.
